I´ll be visiting Bolivia for about a month and will be flying in and out of La Paz. Has anyone got any suggestions of a route to take so as not to miss anything.
Cheers

Hi

Sorata is awsome town for trekking in the Andes and chilling out about 4 hrs bus from LP. Also a trip to Rurra for the Amazon (3 day trip) is excellent also recommend flying from LP instead of the long bus ride. Sucre is a good city to study spanish and check the sites. If your looking for a little warmth away from the Altiplano head to Santa Cruz nice city good nightlife, tropical feel. You can also venture in the grasslands in the area. Corico is worth a couple located in the Yungas region which is located about three hrs from LP. Take the train from Oruru to Tupiza visit the Salt Flats, mountain biking. ENJOY

Go North of La Paz via the "most dandgerous road in the world" to Corrico.

From there carry on (via the longest/worse bus ride) to Rurrenbaque. There you can take good priced amazon tours. I recommend this highly. You can fly back from Rurrenbaque to La Paz if you dont fancy the gruelling bus journey again for about 40 dollars (the price earlier this year when I was there)

Id then go South to Uyuni and do a 4 day jeep tour of the salt plains. This is A MUST DO. Simply amazing landscape and wildlife.

From Uyuni you could go to Potosi and see the infamous mine for a bit of history then carry on to Sucre.

I think you might be able to get up to Santa Cruz from Sucre but we didnt do that so not sure. Round trip can easily be done in a month. We went south to north in about 3/4 weeks.

Have great time. Bolivia is an amazing place.
