Referring to the thread 'Boring' opened by Keimbeggra 30-Dec-2007:
When the Thorn Tree was 'upgraded' 26 Nov 2007 to version 4, the number of new posts (new threads (questions) and replies) dropped in this Bolivia forum.
Here are some figures for 10 days in mid November and mid December:

10-Nov-2007 - 19-Nov-2007:
36 new threads with in all 123 replies. (A total of 159 posts). 3,4 replies per thread.

10-Dec-2007 - 19-Dec-2007:
17 new threads with in all 52 replies. (A total of 69 posts). 3,06 replies per thread.

So the 'productivity' has been halved. But the time of the year must be considered. December is off-season. And in December some people are busy and do not have time for writing in a travel forum.

I have not collected corresponding fully figures for the number of views of the single thread, though it might be interesting. My impression is that the numbers of views per thread are almost the same in the two periods. So there are readers ('passive' users) out there.
An example from 9 successive threads 10-Dec-2007 - 13-Dec-2007: Number of views: 119, 214, 204, 64, 169, 225, 157, 265 and 142.

So just write, just post. The normal rule that in this world more are written than ever will be seen or read, does not apply to this forum.

In December some people don't bother doing statistical analyses. Instead they rail upon those that create multiple posts for the same subject in multiple twigs(countries) of the same branch (ie South America)

Today on January 1st there has been no new thread about Bolivia at all... a 100% decrease in postings per day.

I was more referring to how interesting the posts are - not really interesting lately - and I am not sure if a statistical analysis can be made about the value this forum lost by chasing away former regulars like Standanista and others

I haven't posted for ages as I really do not like the new forum. I find it slow, ugly and it has been ruined for me. Yes , it is now boriing.Ive visited a couple of times, even started to post but couldnt be bothered to wait for the site to let. The today page is what I used to use all the time and without it I find it all too much hassle.

Standanista has in fact now left Bolivia so that is probably the main reason he isnt here anymore,
