Hello everyone,

My boyfriend and I are planning on a trip through Patagonia from half April to half May 2017.

We have made a global itinerary and would like to have some advice on the trip. Our most important question is about the weather and trekking conditions during this time. We would love to do the 'W' Route in Torres del Paine. Is still possible around this time of year? And how many days are recommended for the trek?

Other comments, advice, travel tips are very welcome as well as this…

Hello,

I would like to travel by bus from Salta, Argentina to San Pedro de Atacama on January 7th. Is there a direct bus between these two places? What bus companies run this route and about how much do they cost? About how long is the journey? Do they leave everyday? Should I book in advance/can I book online? Any other general tips on making this journey?

Thank you so much for any advice!
Olivia

While in B.A. I found out that there was an alternative to the dominating airport transfer option, at least for Aeroparque (AEP). It seems to be little known yet.

They are ARbus, http://arbus.com.ar/en/

They have several stop points in the city (and more convenient) and they are half price of the alternative shuttle service. A no brainer. Used them more than once, and it was very efficient and convenient.

They also have a shuttle service between both airport, I did not try.

Seems they…

Last year I had 2 weeks of classes with Ana Maria Troncoso, including some traditional Argentina food cooking lessons. I did not write a recommendation, though I should of. Last week, a couple I know visited Mendoza and had a one-time class with Ana Maria for cooking empanadas and brushing up on tourist Spanish. They sent me a facebook message gushing about how fun it was, and wanted me to write about it here, because they do not do travel forums, so here goes... : smile. :)

Hi again,

What places are worth staying or being based between Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes? I have in mind El Bolson to see the hippie community. I would also like to see the Mapuche community inhabiting the lake area, what town is the best to see them in their whereabouts or is there any market where they go?

Cheers

Hi fellow travellers!

I may not have time to visit both places so in terms of seeing a great variaty of widlife such as penguins, sea lions and others close enough and walk with them, not seeing them just from the distant of a boat, although i am missing the whales season in January would you recommend Puerto Madryn or Ushuaia?

In terms of scenery, landscape?

I read about estancias in isolated coastlines around Puerto Madryn where to appreciate wildlife too and enjoy the beach but they seem…
