Hi :)
We are three Australians travelling in Argentina and need to get Brazilian visas before crossing the border. We are deciding whether to do this is cordoba or at iguazu falls and are wanting the turnaround to be as quick as possible. Is it true that you are more likely to get a quicker turnaround at the consulate in iguazu compared to other consulates? Also, does anyone know if we need to make appointments to either of these consulates? Thanks!

Hi all,

My gf and I have 9 days to split between the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of the park. That seems like a long time to occupy ourselves in the towns and just visiting the falls. I've read that the national park is 55,000 hectares and really beautiful, we'd love to spend some time exploring and camping. We'll have all of our camping gear with us.

Does anyone have any advice for exploring the park? Is camping allowed? Which side of the border should we spend more time? Are there good…

In March we have a layover day in Buenos Aires before we fly down to Ushuaia. From Ushuaia we'll take about six weeks to work our way back north to Buenos Aires. I'd like to find a good bookstore that first day in Buenos Aires with the best selection of natural history books, especially flora and fauna. I'm already set with bird books, by the way.

I'd also appreciate any suggestion for specific titles to look for, and since language isn't an issue local publications are definitely OK.

Thank…

Howdy,
I am looking to travel to Chile to Ecuador May-July 2017. I hope to start in Santiago, Chile, move east to Mendoza and Cordoba, and then move North through Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. My plans are really flexible at this point but that is the general idea of my travels. I have a couple of friends in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Ecuador so that is where I roughly got the route from. I like to go out and go on adventure so if anybody want to do part of the trip with me that would be…

Hey guys,

I will arrive in Mendoza shortly after New Years and I'm currently looking for a hiking partner as I am planning on climbing up the mountain "Agustín Alvarez" close to Mendoza. (5100m) the whole mountain is accessible by walking, during this time of the year there won't be snow at the peak of the mountain, so you won't need any further equipment except a sleeping bag and mat for staying the night in a Refugio (a little wooden hood which serves as shelter).

Mi hiking itinerary I was…

Hi guys, just looking for a little advice.

My wife and I are heading off for a few months travelling next year, and while we're away I'm going to turn 30, so we're looking for some suggestions of where we could celebrate in Argentina.

We're due to fly into Buenos Aires on the 2nd April and spend a couple of days there, before heading somewhere else for my birthday on the 6th. We'd be happy to go pretty much anywhere within reason (we're not tied down to our onward destination afterwards) and…
