Hey guys, we are planning to go to Argentina at the end od January to mid February (3 weeks in total) and we plan to travel BA - Mendoza - Bariloche - Patagonia by bus. When would you suggest to buy bus tickets? Now, from Europe or on the place?
Since it is a high season, do you think we can just arrive to the bus terminal and jump into the bus? Or isnt it that easy? we have experiences from asia and mexico and we never had problém with that. But we dont wanna spend our holidays on the bus…

I'm having a look at return flights online from Buenos Aires to El Calafate for three weeks' time and they are eye waveringly expensive. I'm on a limited schedule so bussing it down wouldn't really be possible.

Is it possible to buy domestic airline tickets in pesos if you're a foreigner? I read something about it not being permitted, but would it be possible to do so through a travel agent if I pay in cash?

If so does anyone have any contact details for agents who can arrange this…

I know this topic has been discussed a lot, but I went to Calle Florida yesterday to change some new, crisp $100 USD bills and it seemed pretty sketchy to me. I asked at my hotel and the proprietor didn't want to talk about it; I stopped at a HI hostel on Florida Street and asked at the desk and he said it wasn't a good idea due to counterfeit bills. He told me there are "offices" that give the blue rate and they are safer than on the street; is this a "cueva"?

- where is best to change blue dollar in Mendoza?
- coming to Mendoza from Chile, is one hour for changing the bus to San Juan sufficient or is it better to leave more time for often delays? Do I need to buy bus tickets from Mendoza to San Juan in advance because of Rallye Dakar going through?
- what is the cheapest and most secure way to send a backpack or parcel back to Europe…

We are a group of four arriving mid-morning (January 2015) at EZE airport. Can anyone recommend transportation to our hotel at San Antonio de Areco? Can you recommend a car/driver or taxi arrangement that we can book ahead of time? What is the going rate for this trip?

When changing at the Blue Rate is it best to have only $100 bills or are $50's and $20's just as accepted?
Are they very selective ablut the $ bills they will take? For example in some countries, even the slightest tear, wrinkle or stain will mean the bill will be rejected.
What is todays Blue Rate?

I am planning a bicycle tour starting in January, but I haven't decided my direction; Ushuaia to Bogota or Bogota to Ushuaia?

It will take at least 6 months so I will arrive at either destination by July-August

I know in summer the wind in Patagonia seems to be an issue. What about winter ? I have read one report saying it's not windy in winter but very windy in summer.

My friend and I are heading directly to El Chalten on 4th Apr after we are arriving in El Calafate by flight. We know Easter Day falls on 5th. So we are concerned about the direct bus tickets from El Calafate to El Chalten on 4th. Does anyone know the departure time for the last bus heading from Calafate to El Chalten? Can we book the bus tickets online a=in advance? If so, what is the website to book (from overseas)?
