Penguins!

Hey guys,

I know it is maybe a different question, than other logistical ones here, but I love penguins and I would like to know, whether it is possible see them elsewhere than in Puerto Madryn and Tierra del Fuego.
We will do some trekks in Los Glaciares and Torres del Paine, so where it is possible to see them aroud el Calafate?

thank you, Katka

I've asked a few questions here on the topic but am still a bit rusty on this one.

I'm wanting to see mountain/landscape views and unique experiences (both for photography) while traveling through Patagonia in February, both on the Chilean side and the Argentinian side.

I'm starting in Ushuaia, and want to end up in Santiago after 3 weeks. I don't mind taking flights or buses, but like driving and would like to rent a car for the more scenic drives if possible. I have a tent, and will camp…

Hello,

We are a couple who wants to cross the American continent from Patagonia to Alaska early 2016. We thought buying a motorhome in Buenos Aires and resell Alaska would be a formality. Now we realize that it is not possible to sell his vehicle in another country. It was thought buy on arrival in Buenos Aires a vehicle coming from the north and registered in the United States for resale once in Alaska. But it made us realize that it would be very difficult to find the right vehicle at the…

Hello, I'm looking for advice on an itinerary for Patagonia. I'm still trying to decide whether to fly from the UK to Santiago in Chile or BA Argentina. I have 7 weeks in total, it's my first time on South America, the most important thing for me is that I get to see as much of Patagonia as possible. Any advice would be gratefully received. I just want to be sure I can cross the borders quite easily if I zig-zag around the region. Thank you!

Holaaaa!

Is there anyone out there interested in visiting the Perito Moreno Glacier next Tuesday evening?
Maybe we can share a taxi or a rental a car.

I´ll be landing around 14:30, too late for any bus that day I´m afraid, and it seems like a good idea since I've heard the site is less crowded in the evening and you can always stay until 22 (sunset approx.)

a very quick translation:
¿Alguien interesado en compartir taxi o coche de alquiler para visitar el Perito Moreno el próximo día 6 por la…

Hi Guys, can someone tell me what the cheapest airline is between Buenos Aires & El Calafete. Also does anyone find it is cheaper to book on the Aerolineas Argentinas website and put your residency as Argentina and getting the price in ARS? I heard it is cheaper when booking online & getting the price in ARS rather than getting the price in GBP, for example, if you say you are booking for Britain. Justin

Hola,

i'm finilalizing the itinerary for a trip to Chile and Argentina at the end of in March.
I will visit Torres del Paine and do the W trek; after that i still have a few days and i would like to cross the border to Argentina visiting either Perrito Moreno or Ushuaia, before flying back to BA and the back home.

Which one would you recomend, Perrito Moreno or Ushuaia?
I only have 2 1/2 days max to spend there, so probably i should go for Perrito Moreno since it should be easier and closer…

Hello All,

I find it easier to get hold of Euros than Dollars and was just wondering if I will be at any disadvantage changing them in Argentina at the Blue Rate.

If Dollar is the currency of choice, do my dollar bills need to be in pristine condition? The Bureaux de Change here in London sometimes give dollar bills that have writing on them or seem quite old. Some countries seem not to like these. Should I be careful about the condition of my dollar bills if I try to get some to bring to…

Hi all,

for the first time during my one year travels I am facing the problem that I can't find a Lonely Planet guidebook within the country.

This week I arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. First thing I wanted to do was to buy the Lonely Planet and make my plans where to go. Unfortunatly I could not buy a Lonely Planet for Argentina in the whole of Buenos Aires.

I checked out every bookstore in the airport Ezeiza, then several bookstores in town, including El Ateneo, Kel Ediciones, Gandhi…
