Hey All,

Am hoping to get a taste of the Northern part of Argentina but I only have 3 weeks and am only on busses. Rosario? Is Iguazu just too far to make the bus trip worth it? Too touristy? If I did go to the Falls any good places to stop along the way or hang around in while I am there? I generally like a place where I can go for some day hikes and get into the wilderness / mountains / woods etc. I know it is completely different up there but loved towns like El Chalten and Villa…

I am allowed a maximum of 90 days in Argentina with just my passport (no visa required), and plan on entering overland at Iguazu or flying in from Brazil to Buenos Aires. My ticket to fly out of S America from Buenos Aires is for about 120 days after I will enter Argentina, but I will be going in and out of Chile in that time, so I won't be overstaying my limit. In some countries I've been to, I've had to show 'proof of on-ward travel' (e.g. airline ticket) out of the country with a date not…

Does anyone know if there is a cross border bus from Sucre to Salta. A tour agency has offered me one, but its only $10, so im not to sure if its real, seeing as it costs that much from the border to Salta.

I would like to hire a car in Argentina, probably in Bariloche. I have a UK photocard driving licence - will I need an international licence or will they accept my UK one? We might want to take the car over into Chile. Need to know quickly as we're flying out next Thursday!

Also, at the risk of sounding like cheesy el Che tribute artists, we fancied hiring a motorbike for a couple of days (my fellow traveller knows how to ride one). Has anyone done that - are there many places that hire them?

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about buses from Corrientes to Mercedes? I can't seem to find any information on-line and I´ve also searched this forum. I'm looking for times and companies. Basically, what I need is a company that will get me to Mercedes by noon on Friday so that I can go to Esteros del Ibera. I will arrive in Corrientes at either 11pm on Thurs night (if I can get a bus on Fri morn), or else 0745 Fri morn and spend the night in Mercedes and go to Carlos Pelligrini on Sat.

Just a FYI for those wanting to rent an apartment in Bs As...

I am blonde US guy now living in BA and I am fed up with getting ripped off in this town...but I have a few suggestions...

Do not use Craigslist for sourceing an apartment...these are the most obvious over priced ripoffs...

Try to use local paper for sourcesing an apartment...speaking Spanish is a hugh plus, and will save you literally hundreds of dollars. Try to deal with owners directly.

Luckily I have a peruvian girlfriend who is a…

hi All,

Have had a great trip in Argentina and Chile and will post a trip report soon, but I wanted to take some of this fabulous wine back meanwhile. On all the inter-country flights and even those between Argentina and Chile, I have been able to board with lighters and ëven some liquid in the form of lotion...has anyone tried taking wine back on an International flight?

thanks for the advice!

I am arriving in Buenos Aires at the end of March and I am looking for a relaxed B&B or small hotel or hostal. I'm in my late thirties and would prefer a mellow place not a total party place. thanks for any ideas Jacqueline
