Hello fellow travelers! I am looking to head to the falls from BA and hoping to break it up just a bit, maybe go to Rosario or Santa Fe for a night? It will be our only oppurtunity to see more of Argentina than BA. Is this a worthwhile way to go about the trip? And if so, how much longer can we expect to travel than the 20 hour bus ride straight to the falls? And finally, are there buses from either city to the falls, is it even feasible? I am a first time traveller and really appreciate…
I found a site http://argentina.gabinohome.com/en</a> and they offer fully equipped roomis in BA for 200 - 250 dollars a month? Is that true and safe? How with the depostis? I'm coming in late June, so what would be the cheapest way to stay 1 - 3 months?
First time on this site. Hello. Just returned from Portugal and the Azores it was a great trip. Now on way to Argentina and very excited to start a spanish course and visit a fascinating country. I was in Chile years ago for rafting the Bio Bio. Now get to see the other side of the Andes. Would love to feel OK about wondering about alone. I am very independent. Used to not having fears. Many of the messages about Buenos Aires use cautions about various things. I will be living with host family…
Hey All,
From what I've heard, laptops, digital cameras, etc. in Argentina are very expensive because of import tariffs compared to prices you might find in the United States. Has anyone taken a laptop, camera or any other piece of technology down to Argentina (as "personal" items through customs) - only to sell them later and turn a profit? I have heard stories of people making a couple hundred bucks doing this and I wondered if anyone has experience doing this - or knows of anyone who has...
…
Does anyone know if they have non-charter flights from San Pablo to Bariloche after June 15th? I hate having to change at Ezeiza or worse go to Aeroparque and get stuck overnight in BA.
Am now spending 3 full days and 2 half days in Ushuaia in June with my family / 2 kids...
Is it easy enough to organise a dog sledding trip & a boat trip in the Beagle Channel when we arrive?... I guess we'd want to make full days of both... Any suggestions or good companies that work well with kids (especially the dog sledding)?
In the 3 full days and 2 half days, what else would you recommend? Good places to eat / visit...
Many thanks for all your input...
Hi, can any recommend a decent hostel in Santa Fe? LP only recommends 4 and none of them sound too great. Just looking for a double bed in a nice place somewhere in town.
Thanks,
Tom
I am unsure whether I will need to bring US dollars to Argentina for a 3 week trip or is it okay to come with only Pesos. I will bring enough US dollars to pay for my apartment but wondered if it's best to have more dollars for a bit of travelling around ( Iguazu etc.) When I'm away from the apartment in Buenos Aires I will only be staying a few nights in fairly cheap hostels and paying for bus trips.
Also is it necessary to book hostels in Puerto Iguazu a few weeks in advance or is if feasible…
