I would like to do a survey to know what you love more about Buenos Aires and what you hate the most about the city.

I love: the architecture. I can fall in the street easily because I walk looking up, the details. I love the city has so many different styles, not all the buildings similar, or similar colours. I love the balconies, specially the ones whith plants and flowers!!! I love that all the sidewalks are different!
I love to find always something old, but new for me.
I love the great sculptures and the tiny sculptures hidden in some parks (as the ones near San Martin monument).
I love that in some streets all the shops are devoted to the same items (as in Once)
I love the old cafes, plenty of style

I hate: people so dirty, throwing papers, cans and bottles in the street. I hate graffitti. I hate vandalism against sculptures. I hate bad dangerous drivers. I hate the drivers shouting and making noise.
I hate the broken sidewalks.
I hate that many old buildings are being demolishing instead of fixed, to build taller towers...but that's not in downtown, it's, in Palermo, in Villa Urquiza.
I hate the fence that don't allow me to go upstairs in monument in front of the Congreso, as I did when I was a child, but I understand that the fence must be there, because of the vandals...

I hate many porteƱos that don't know another city to compare, critizising their city as "the worst on the world". There is a lot to critizise, but some things that I hear sometimes are simply ignorance.

Apologies in advance, very touristy response to follow...

I love:

Lots of cafes and restaurants
Steak
Malbec
Tango
Sense of faded grandeur - buildings, San Telmo antiques, cemetery, literature etc
Unique feeling of mix of French, Spanish and Italian culture with a South American twist
Different areas, great city for walking

I don't like:

Vague feeling of lack of security e.g. taxi driver telling me to keep my hangbag on the floor so nobody smashes the window and takes it. Was quite surprised by this as nothing bad has actually ever happened to me in BA...

  1. the general atmosphere - friendly people for being a capital.
    2. the traffic and its noise. terrible. Not enough green relaxing places.

peejee, i do find quite common to see a 100% clear sky, no clouds at all in bs as at almost any time of the year, even in winter, also the kind of light blue i do find it quite particular us well, i dont recall seeing excatly the same in others parts,
so i mean it, seriously, and i think is what i like best about ba
