You can find the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate requirements at www.who.int/ith/ITH_country_list.pdf and neither Argentina or Brazil require you to have a certificate but remember that is because they both have endemic yellow fever in parts of each country so are not worried about your bringing it into the country but from the viewpoint of your health it still might be a good idea to consider it.

Not required and the risk in the falls area is truly minimal.

However, the issue of vaccination may arise on your return to your home country. For example, when I return to Australia the immigration officials have always asked for my Yellow Fever certificate when returning from South America.

#3 True but Oz is about the only first world country with the climate and fauna capable of hosting yellow fever so are the only first world counry with the requirement for the certificate.

Mark, all I am suggesting is for the OP to look at their own countries entry/exit requirements when returning from a yellow fever zone.

I never once, had to show the certificate anywhere in South America. Though, there are free vaccinations around the continent.

Its best to decide whether you want to have the vaccination or not....

#5 The OPs profile suggests they are from Hong Kong which has no Yellow Fever requirements. The reason for the free vaccinations is that the disease is endemic in some parts of South America (although less than in Africa) but places where it is endemic rarely require the certificate, as they already have it so are not concerned about the possibility of one additional imported case, it is places like Oz where it is not endemic but could become endemic if it was introduced because they have the climate and fauna capable of hosting yellow fever that are really keen on the certificates meanwhile most temperate countries have no requirements because it is not endemic and could not become endemic even if it was introduced because they lack the climate and fauna capable of hosting yellow fever.
