Hey, may have missed the boat but just seen this on a search for Larium...

Looks like we have a similar kind of itinery! Though Im guessing you'll be in deepest darkest argentina at the moment. It looks like quite a lot but probably manageable. Me and a friend are going in may for three months starting in rio but we're missing out patagonia. Probably gonna do brazil and hit bolivia before the inca trail, which is booked for 20th July for us. Which only leaves us a month to get through chile/argentina but we'll play it by ear anyway.

I was speaking to my doc about malaria tablets and they reckon Doxycycline is not recommended because of the skin thing. I was led to believe it was a lot more likely than 1 in a 100 though, but they basically said it would ruin my whole journey. I get the impression each area is really specific about what mosquitos have adapted to which pills. I was thinking of taking malarone where possible because you only need a couple of days notice and I like you will not be in any major risk areas while im there so I'll only need a few. Its only a weeks worth afterwards instead of 4 with larium. Still more expensive but just less hassle & less time spent managing side effects.

Anyway hope its going good, maybe il bump into you on our travels
