I don't recall seeing your earlier post, but here's a book that I would recommend: the Insight Guide to Argentina. It is a fairly thick book that has a lot of information about the country beyond just the tourist stuff, so that you can read something of the country's history. The travel information is well organized by region, with good road maps and descriptions of things you will see in each area.
