Hi. My son and his school group are travelling to BA on Wednesday. Sorry, but I have a few very easy questions:
1 - What is the weather like at the moment?
2 - What is the cost of an average lunch/dinner - Meat, salad, pasta, etc.
3 - Are there many pickpocket to look out for?
4 - Where would you suggest he looks for Argentina football shirts? He's a huge Lionel Messi fan!
Thanks, and greeting from the southern most tip of Africa, Cape Town.

Hi!!!
1) It is very cold in Buenos Aires at the moment. Today at 7AM it was 5C°. As Buenos Aires is pretty humid, you feel the cold/hot weather even mora than in dry places. Bring winter clothes!!!
2) The cost of an average lunch/dinner depends on the restaurant where you have it. Average everyday meal in restaurant US$ 8-9. If you are going out on weekends to a more fashinable place it goes from US$ 15 to US$ 30 for sushi or US$ 40-50 for meat in Cabaña Las Lilas in Puerto Madero.
3) As in every big city in the world.... YES, you should watch out for pickpockets. Watch out for your bag in public transportation (subway, train). Have common sense... In case of doubt, don´t walk after dark in places that look unsafe but call a taxi instead, etc.
4) You will find soccer t-shirts at any store that sells sport clothes in any mall (Paseo Alcorta, Galerías Pacífico, etc.)

Most shopping centres (post #3) have both a nike and an adidas store. Look there for the football t-shirts. Argentina's national team is adidas and barcelona's is nike.

Prices in Buenos Aires. The $ sign seen on the pictures means Pesos.
