Hello,

I am flying into Buenos Aires on February 9 in advance of a study abroad trip, and have 2-3 weeks to explore with my boyfriend before classes start. I decided it would be fun to fly south since I will be going north and seeing the falls with my study abroad program.

I was wondering if this itinerary is possible in 2 weeks? I could maybe stretch it to three weeks.

Argentina Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in BA
Day 2: Fly to El Calafate, spend afternoon at Laguna Nimez
Day 3: Bus to Perito Moreno Glacier, day hike
Side trip option: Lago Roca (add 1 day)
Day 4: Fly to Torres Del Paine from El Calafate (4 days)
Spend 4 days doing the W circuit
Day 9: Travel to Beagle Channel and spend a 2-3 days around the islands/glaciers
Day 12: Fly back to Buenos Aires

I would have liked to add El Chalten to this list but I read that you need at least 2-3 days for that trip. Open to discussion on going there instead of somewhere else though, or adding a few days to the itinerary if it's worthwhile to go. Regardless, what does everyone think of this trip?

I have one more question: I am going to be in Buenos Aires for four months altogether so will be flying into BA from the US with a checked bag and a carry on. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do with my things? Is it smarter/safer to find a place in BA to store the majority of my luggage until I get back, or should I just take it everywhere with me? I'm a little concerned about having that much stuff with me even though we won't be camping, we will be staying in hostels. Once the program starts (on March 4) I'll be living with a host family so I will have a safe place to put my things, I'm just wondering what to do until then especially since I will be traveling.

Day 4: Fly to Torres Del Paine from El Calafate (4 days)>

No flights exist between the two. No flights between El Calafate and Puerto Natales (nearest airport). Bus transportation between EC and PN. Private transfers between EC and Torres del Paine park.

Note that you need reservations for all campsites (free and paid), mountain huts or hotels in TdP before you go. If you cannot find space available, likely for February, replace this with El Chalten.

Ahh that is good to know!! Thanks for the tips! Otherwise, do you think the timetable for this trip is good? Would it make more sense to fly from El Calafate to Ushuaia and THEN get a bus to Torres Del Paine, and fly back to Buenos Aires from there? (Unless we go to El Chalten instead of course)

To fly from Puerto Natales/Punta Arenas to Buenos Aires you would have to fly via Santiago, Chile, so it doesn't make any sense.
