Hey,

we are 2 young people and we are leaving to BA tomorrow!!!
Since it is high season and we are thinking of always going to the hostels proposed by Lonely Planet without prior reservation, do you think it is ok? Or will those hostels be full?
We will go to Mendoza, Bariloche, El Calafate...

Thanks, K.

Bring cash to exchange on the black market because the official rate of exchange is too low making all services much more expensive.

Official rate is 8 pesos to the American dollar. The black one is about 13 pesos.

At the official rate a car from Ezeiza airport to downtown Buenos Aires costs US$50. It costs US$30 at the black rate.

I'm basically doing you're rough route backwards - Patagonia to BA. You may find it difficult to find room at hostels in places like Bariloche, El Calafate and El Chaten - book ahead if you can. Also buses book out pretty fast, so try to book those at least a couple of days in advance too.

but if you're landing in BA it would be impossible to book this $30 USD rate from EZE into town. Surely on departure day.. unless you can get blue rate exchange in the airport somehow??
