I will be arriving in Buenos Aires (first stop) and thinking about offering haircuts in the city for tourists/travelers/whoever looking for an English-speaking hairdresser.
Do you think I could be able to make some money out of this for my travels??
Hi I think, in my experience, this is not a strong plan.
I say this for the following:
1. Haircuts in BsAs are reasonably cheap
2. Salons are everywhere
3. The advantage salons have of offering a full service with all the equipment
I had a haircut on my first day of arriving in BsAs. Salon around the cnr. from my flat. Great cut and I recall a good price. Plus I got to mix with locals.I don't speak Spanish, not did they speak English. However by using the "look books" we got there:)

Haircut and beard trimming is what I do as a hobby in almost every country I visit. So far about 70 and it's been fun.
Average price for haircut US$ 1. Most recent was well below it in Ethiopia. In BA I had my favourite barber in San Telmo, 3.50 pesos.
My most memorable haircut was in Cuba in 1997, when the power went, the fans stopped,, and I sweated like a pig. Anyway, it was only US$ 0.04 (probably not realistic today in Cuba or anywhere).
US$5 taking the black market rate of exchange. If you take the official rate it costs US$7.50.
Christ knows how you tell a cheap haircut in Bs As. Most of the locals look like they've been coiffured by a blind man. @ the OP, I did notice the international hipster-tw#t style in evidence last year. Beardy twenty- somethings abounded. Perhaps you could pitch to them?

I was thinking about offering haircuts to the travelers that would be staying in the same hostel.
I have read somewhere that people do end up with bad haircuts abroad because of the language barrier and therefor I thought of this. However we will see what happens! I do have travel money but was hoping I would be able to go home not having spent all of it :)
