Hi all,

We have just arrived in Argentina from central America and have backpacks full of warm weather gear.
Just 1 jumper, 1 lightweight waterproof jacket and boots that would be useful for the cold.

We are planning on going down to Patagonia, and hopefully "doing the W" in Torres Del Paine. Probably in mid April. Clearly it is going to be cold and windy. The question is whether to buy gear (and if so what gear?) here in Buenos Aires, or can we rent stuff in Puerto Natales (if so, how much will it cost?). I read that we can rent tents and sleeping bags etc, but what about waterproofs and jackets? even boots? Any help would be great. Also, does anyone know when the refugios close? can we book them online?

thanks for your help.
