I am planning to travel throughout Argentina by bus in February and March. I am visiting from the UK.
Can I purchase long distance bus tickets in cash with pesos? I have read that there are restrictions on foreigners paying for 'tourism related services' with pesos, and that they are required to pay in US dollars... Is this correct?
If I can buy tickets with pesos , then it will be considerably cheaper for me to first change my dollars via the 'blue dollar rate' .
yes you can buy tickets in pesos and much cheaper when you change it on the blue market
you must buy air tickets in usd not bus tickets...so far!

Also ferry tickets to Uruguay have to be paid in US dollars, at the official rate, if you are a foreigner.
bus hotels, almost all in pesos, i do not know about tiket to uruguay if you have to pay in U$D , may be better airplane.
