Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has taken or knows about taking sleeper buses from Salta to Resistencia and from Resistencia to Iguazu. I have found the website www.plataforma10.com to be quite useful for finding services for most major routes in Argentina. However, although Lonely Planet suggests that these routes should be available, I have found only a single, non-sleeper bus from Resistencia to Iguazu and no bus at all from Salta to Resistencia. Does anyone know if such a route does exist?

Thanks very much!
Julia

Yes, you can take an overnight bus from Salta to either Resistencia or Corrientes (about 45 minutes further East) and then transfer to a bus that will get you to Iguazu. Plan on about 13-14 hours for the first leg and 8-9 for the second. It's not an enjoyable trip.

I posted the same question some time ago, that is: from Iguazu to Salta. La Nueva Estella does this route with changing busses at Corrientes or Resistencia, I forgot which of the two. They probably do it also the other way around. The question is (I can't find the answer): do they have 'coche cama' (sleeper bus; hightly recommendable!)??? Maybe Jorge Daniel Barchi knows?

And the Flechabus service Salta-Resistencia/Corrientes v.v. .....do THEY at least offer 'coche cama' at this part of the route??

Thanks on forehand for the information,

Ineke

The Flecha Bus route from Salta to Resistencia/Corrientes is semi-cama, not full cama. There are a few companies that go onward from there to Iguazu. Oneis ExpressoSinger, which I took and don't recommend. Single-level, antiquated buses with seats that barely recline.
