Does anyone know the e mail address to purchase bus tickets on line for a bus out of El Calafate? I need to buy them in advance or I may be without a way to get to El Chalten. Your answer will be appreciated.

Hi you go to a page called Plataforma10
there you will see all the buses and you can buy them on line
but if you have an intl credit card you will be the official price approx 8.56 pesos to 1 usd instead of in cash at the blue price of 13.50pesos to 1 usd

I would just buy in Arg. You will always find room on the bus. If you are worried, buy the day or two before from the bus terminal.

I agree with trent84. We were in El Calafe during the beginning of the high season and we had no problems buying bus tickets to El Chalten for the next day, actually there were a few seats not taken on our bus.

The only one you may need to book ahead is the one to Puerto Natales....or further north to Bariloche or something. But generally, you'll be fine.
