Arrived on Buquebus from Colonia Uruguay. Got about $100 of pesos out of the ATM, all new bills.
Taxi to accommodation charged twice the recommended rate but we found him to be so helpful we were not too upset. However when we went to pay he accused us vehemently that we had handed him two false notes of 100 pesos each. He continued to accuse us as we handed over another two. Found out later that he had pocketed the good notes and given us back false 100's. Amazingly skilful, his sleight of hand was amazing. Best to always pay in small notes as they don't have false ones we heard.

You seem to be veritable magnets for misadventure. See whether you can get conned with the mustard trick and then you will have completed the classic trio of Buenos Aires traveller's warnings.
