Reserva Ecologica may be OK for a run and perhaps watch the locals strolling in the sun at weekends, but from the point of view of a parque, it is one of the most boring I have ever been in - and I've been in a few.

The big Parks in Palermo are interesting on Sunday afternoons when they are crowded with locals (but be sure to go to the San Telmo antiques market on Sunday morning, and have an early lunch at that popular steak restaurant in the area --- can't remember the name, something like El Div......). but go early enough to avoid the crowds at that restaurant).
