Trying to find advice on posting things home from BA.
I just got back from Antarctica and was hoping to post back my winter gear before continuing on with my travels. All the horror posts about the BA post office are a bit dated so I was wondering if anyone had up-to-date information on posting packages internationally?

  1. Is the Retiro office the best place to do it?
  2. How unreliable is it?
  3. Can I bring the gear and pack it in a box there before sending it?

I don't care how long it takes to get home. I once posted a package from Cambodia and it took four months so if it took that long again, I wouldn't mind. I would like it to show up eventually though.

Never went to the post office in BsAs, but I did post a package of stuff from the main one in Cordoba. If I recall I didn't have a box but bought one there and they even wrapped it in brown packing paper. Arrived in the USA in less than a month.

Swing by an OCA post office and they should have boxes there for sale. Maybe go first before bring all your stuff.

Sending things out should not be a problem. It is receiving packages in Argentina that is a nightmare!
