Just wondering what they options were and roughly how much $ each option was !
Also is there any MUST SEE spots along the way, like i assume I should stop into Uruguay and at least check it out, but anything else? Im young so I am interested in the beach areas and hostels in between Sao Paulo and Rio, but i would like to check out a bit of Argentina and Uruguay while I am down there so thats why i am just wondering if anyone had info on transportation

And I have done long long bus journeys before but is there anywhere that is common for people to go see and stay for a night or two, to break up the journey!?
It really depends on how much time you have.
The quickest route is would be a flight from SP to BA (about 300USD with Turkish or Qatar).
The other 'logical' step would be to bus down to Foz do Iguaçu and visit the falls, before going onwards to BA.
If you have time you could bus down to Santa Catarina, and visit the beaches down the coast and head into Uruguay that way.

yes id say also to iguazu falls dont forget it is fall here so the coast will not be good for bathing at all in uruguay too cold
i would rather stop off at posadas for thee sn ignacio ruins and maybe somehere in corrientes or entre rios
also be aware that uruguay is much more $ than argentina and there is a black market for usd and euros in argie

I was actually planning on going in late August but I don't think that's great sun bathing weather either then.
So you think Buenos Aires then Montevideo then the falls before bussing to Sao paolo?
Also as far as the black market for currencies goes, how does that work exactly? Because in Colombia and other countries I've seen ppl change their dollars and euros and pounds on the street with locals for better rates .

You might be best to head back to BA for a bus to Iguazu (not sure of direct connections).
As for the Blue Dollar - its like elsewhere. In BA go to Av Florida and there will be plenty of people offering exchanges. Check the blue dollar rate (quick google search) and you've got a good idea of where your money will get you. Be aware that it is 'illegal' but not 'strictly' enforced.
In late August Uruguayan beaches will be as alive as Mars, only windier and wetter.
Since you say you are interested in beaches, do you really have to make the trip in August? Any chance you can move that to the Southern hemisphere summer? The whole trip will be completely different then.
Ya I realised that Argentina and Uruguay won't be the warmest :( I was told by my Brazilian mate though that the beaches there would be fine and I more so just wanted to check out buenes aires and Montevideo for a couple days each while I'm down in that part of the world!!
Looks like ferrying to Montevideo and back to BA before flight to São Paulo would be easiest
Not sure if you still plan to go to the falls, but if you do, bear in mind that there are two different cities there (three if you count Ciudad del Este in Paraguay). The bus from BA will take you to Puerto Iguazu on the Argentinian side, the flight to Sao Paulo will likely be from Foz do Iguacu on the Brazilian side. The trip in between takes a border crossing, easy but often crowded. Just so you allow enough time.
