Dear all,

We are planning to go to Bariloche and drive around the area/ explore the lake region in late March. Do you have any recommendations for us where to go? We plan not to stay in Bariloche for too long, as I read it is pretty built up and touristy. We are traveling with a baby and hope to explore nature and visit smaller towns and sights. We are down to earth people who enjoy good authentic food and smaller hikes/boat rides, visit sights and museums.
Thank you!

  • Cerro Otto, Cerro campanario, Circuito Chico - consider short walks in Llao Llao Forest
  • 7 Lakes Route, consider spending the night in San Martin and return via Villa Traful
  • Cerro Tronador (with morning side trip to Los Alerces waterfall), Ventisquero Negro Galciar, Garganta del Diablo and the short walk to the Las Nalcas waterfall.
  • Bosque Arrayanes, either take the return trip from Bariloche or the boat from Villa La Angostura (boat out and back or boat out and 12km walk back)
  • Day trip to El Bolson (Market), Lago Puelo

Half day options:
- Cascada de los Duendes and Viewpoint & beaches by Lago Gutierrez...
- Cerro Catedral viewpoint
