Hi people,

I'm going to Buenos Aires in the end of February or beginning of March, not sure yet when and I haven't bought a ticket yet... I've heard the carnaval in BA is a must, but i've also heard the opposite. Who can help me and tell me something about carnaval in Buenos Aires 26, 27, 28 of February.

I can imagen it isn't like Rio, perhaps there is only 'just' one big party somewhere, wherefor I also need to buy a crazy expensive ticket for. Or is it more like a whole city getting in pary-mode for a few days. I really don't know and internet doesn't clearify it either. So please tell me, carnaval in Buenos Aires, GO or NO GO?

Thank you soo much!
Koen

Carnival doesn't exist in Buenos Aires, except for a few small neighborhood drum groups. Montevideo in Uruguay has a celebration, but it is not like the party in Brazil.

......To draw in a few more tourists who dont do enough research......

Still BA has enough going for it to make it a great destination for nearly anyone, they dont have to lie or exaggerate....

Carnival is not really a thing in BA.

If you're travelling to Argentina for Carnival, go to Gualeguaychu (Entre Rios province, and the biggest carnival in Argentina) or Corrientes.

If you just want to celebrate Carnival, go to Brazil (Rio, Salvador, Recife).
