hello again everyone i am in houston, texas till tues when i fly to villerahmosa (sorry my spelling ) i have been researching on what i can take with me as far as gifts. I cant find what im looking for. i have several CD's and dvd's i am wanting to take as well as 2 discmans. some jewelry 2 watches, bracelets. can anyone tell me if i can enter with this or will they be refused. I would appreciate any comments on this. thank you.
Highly unlikely you'll have any problems. You're allowed a $300 (could be $400 now, not sure) exemption on stuff to start with. They're not usually very picky. | 1
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about much, just say they are gifts. In the last few months, I have brought a playstation, a toaster, a stick mixer, a lot of clothes and CDs, books etc -- never had to do much to get through Mexican customs. They did ask about whether I had "electronics" in my bag one time, and I said I had a playstation, they asked me how many, and I said one, and that it was my husband's, and they let me through. | 2
Wow! thank you so much. do i have to show value for these items? because i dont have reciepts for everything tho some of the jewlery has price tags on them still. Or should i wear what i can would that make a difference? just asking? thanks again | 3
No, no receipts necessary, also not necessary to wear everything. You'll have to fill out the customs form before you arrive in Mexico, but you won't have to claim anything, unless you are bringing something exceptionally valuable... | 4
I belive your allowed up to 20 cd's, casetts, etc.. 1 musical playing device.. clothes are not a problem.. | 5
thank you again for your suggestion. i wont say anything unless i am asked and do not plan on using spanish unless it becomes absolutely necessary. | 6
