hello lonely planet world...
My brother and I are going to do a 4 or 5 dayer in Playa in Novemebr. We are easy going, fun loving guys.
We will do some golfing there as well as some site seeing. I was there for a week about three years ago and was taken in by Playa's layed back atmosphere, great beach and the assortment of international restaurants. The beer was good as well! Are there any ladies out there that we could hook up with(you don't have to be golfers) and see where it all goes. We plan…
Hey guys, I need your help!
I've been lucky enough to be accepted on a student exchange to work in a Mexican hospital for the month of july and I can put three places of preference - this is the list:
Chihuahau, Culiacan, Guadalajare, Minatitlan, Monterrey, Morelia, Puebla, Saltillo and Toluca
The problem is I have to decide by tomorrow and I don't think I'm going to get out of work early enough to buy a book!
I love lively busy places, I love music and dancing!
Thanks very much for your help!

Should be hitting Mexico City around 10-15th April does anyone have any recommendations for hostels/bars/clubs which have a fairly chilled out vibe and an older crowd. (I'm 32, so not quite over the hill yet). I'm looking to hook up with like minded travellers for beers and intelligent conversation.
Cheers guys
AJ

Superficial but necessary! Does anyone know of a good quality (decently priced) hair salon in either Puebla (where I live) or Mexico City (where I'd be willing to go for a good price and job)? I am trying to return to my natural light-brown/dark-blond, and away from the sun-bleached golden-blond I have now. Also, I'd love to know Mexican vocabulary to express that I want to avoid chemicals that are going to damage the health of my hair (is it a direct translation?) and that I want…
Is it mandatory to bring a US passport for the TJ/San Diego border crossing by foot or by car?
Hello:
1-Can anyone tell me the best place to dive Chinchorro from. I will be diving alone so hopefully I can find a dive center that runs regular trips.
2-Towns to stay in. Xcalak looks like it may be difficult, both for places to stay and diving. Chetumal (sic) could be a possibility. Tulum looks a little touristy for my tastes. Accomodation should be clean and have a private bath, but no other luxuries are really necessary.
3-How long to travel the peninsula and see the major sites (sorry…
Amigos, I just read this article on the "Yahoo News" from the Associated Press. It deals with entering Mexico without a passport by car. Even though it is not mentioned in the article, it also applies to crossing by foot.

So you want to go to Mexico, but you don't have a passport? There are still options, at least for one more year.
Using just your driver's license or birth…
I'm going to Guadalajara in August and am wondering about the logistics of visiting Tikal in Guatamala.
Are there flights available? How long is a bus ride? Is the bus ride dangerous? Do I need a visa?
Any help would be great. Thanks.
