I am flying to Cancun in July and will be spending 1-2 weeks in Cuba. I wanted to do some volunteer work in Guatemala City before I head back to the states in August but I think it might take too much time to bus it down there. Does anybody know of any low or no cost organizations in Mexico that I could volunteer at? Or does anybody know the bus schedule/route from Cancun to Guatemala City? Thanks!

Odd News of the Day: Kinkajou boards bus, attacks passenger
The Associated Press
MEXICO CITY

A kinkajou, also known as a honey bear, escaped from a Mexico City zoo, boarded a bus
and attacked a passenger, officials said Tuesday. The kinkajou, which is about the size of a
small dog, got on the bus at about 11 p.m. Monday after escaping from the San Juan de
Aragon Zoo. The animal sat next to the bus driver for almost an hour as he drove through
the city, and scratched and bit a 20-year-old female…

My film "Mayavision” features the major Mayan cities of Copan, Tikal, Chichen Itza, and Uxmal in both Central America and Mexico. It also includes Mexico City, with the Virgin of Guadalupe and the temples of Teotihuacán. The film begins in Honduras, Belize, and Guatemala.

“Mayavision” can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection. This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video. No ads and no strings attached. I sell nothing. My video site is:

Hello all...

I will soon be on my way to Morelia and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where to stay.

I am a solo female traveler and have never been to Morelia. A hostel would be nice so I can meet other people to go out with. I also speak Spanish and like hanging out with los Mexicanos. I am not a Hostelling International member either.

Any suggestions would be nice.

THANK YOU...
La Guerita

Pesos

Hi there

What is the best option to exchange US dollars into pesos? Local bank or Cancun airport? I'm assuming the best option is to use pesos the entire trip? We are staying in Solomin Bay so not too sure how many places near would except credit cards.

Thanks Much

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to kick back and relax on a beach in Mexico, away from big resorts and crowds, but where I can still meet a handful of enthusiastic travellers and local folks alike. Ideally a clean, safe cabina on the beach, with access (walk or bus) to a market or interesting town. Tulum has been suggested for it's ruins as well, but I'm open to any suggestions.
Does this place exist, or is paradise lost?

My husband and I are flying into Cancun on Friday, our flight gets in at 9pm, and I've reserved a ride to the Port on bestday.com. I just talked to a friend who got back from Tulum last week, and she said getting through customs in Cancun took a long time. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how late the ferries go to Isla Mujeres, and do we have time to get to the island that night? We've got reservations at Su Casa on Isla, so our place to stay is taken care of. Hopefully there will still…

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted on this board for many months! It's been a while. I was working in Acapulco with my Spring break company. This year i'll be moving to Mexico again. I will be living in Acapulco for the months of June and July. I didn't have any time to research different complexes while I was working there in March. Does anyone know of anything? Now, I don't need to live a glamourous lifestyle, haha..but I don't want to live in a complete dump. i'm looking for something 500 or…

Last Friday's 5 pm Guad-to-PV bus had every seat filled. This was the first time I'd ever had to wait for a seat on the chance that a reservation turned out to be a no show. I got one of the last two seats. So the next day, I thought I'd better start early to get from La Penita to the PV airport and...only six seats filled!

Anyway, I had six hours to kill before my flight. Hopped on a bus that said "Centro" but it was one that took the longest route possible to get from A to B...so I saw…
