I plan to take a bus from St Cristobal to Tuxtla, visit the Tuxtla zoo, and then fly to Oaxaca the same day. Where can I leave luggage SAFELY during the day in Tuxtla? Should I carry it to the zoo, or check it in at some bus terminal?
Also, what's the easiest way of traveling to the zoo from the bus terminal? I do not speak a word of Spanish, although I understand a few dozen words.
This will be my very first trip to Mexico and Chiapas. My time is limited, so I am just sampling the country. I plan to stay one day in St Cristobal de las Casas to get some taste of Chiapas and then I'll return to Mexico DF and further. I'll arrive in Chiapas/Cristobal on a tuesday afternoon, stay the wednesday in St Cristobal area, and leave on thursday morning.
Interests: to learn something, even a little, about contemporary life and beliefs in the area. I will see plenty of ruins elsewhere…
Am looking to go to mexico in july and august but i hear that its hurricane season does it affect most of the country or are there places where i can still enjoy the sun and laze around on the beach

The Bancas project is one of user-friendly works of art, created by some of Mexico's best-known sculptors/architects/artists: 71 benches scattered along Paseo de la Reforma from the El Ángel de la Independencia monument to Avenida…
Hello!

I would like someplace I can wander into town and get some "real" Mexico, with some sort of nightlife being a distant 3rd priority.
I was looking at Zihuatanejo and it looked nice. LP Guide says it's "very touristy." Is this the case? My…
