Hey travellers, I have 15 days for Mexico and I'm looking for a very chilled-out itinerary. Not feeling stressed or hurried or flustered or doing too many things is a priority. I want to spend roughly half of it relaxing in Tulum, and then check out Chichen Itza en route to Merida where I'll fly to Oaxaca and spend some days exploring the city and surrounding towns. How much of this time would you allocate to spending in Oaxaca (and nearby towns?) I'm trying to work out how long to devote to…

I'm planning to stay one night just before, on, or after new years. I know there is not a large selection, but could anyone tell me about their hotel experiences? I need to find a place that will be a little more quiet at night as I'm a light sleeper.

Has anyone flown from Oaxaca to Tuxtla?

I can see a 1:20 pm flight on Aero Mar, no issue. But the Aerotucan website is confusing me. On the Home page, it let's you put in a departure and arrival city and a a date and look at flight. I want to do a one-way, and when I put in Oaxaca as the departure, Tuxtla does not show as an available arrival city.

However, when I go to the Reservations tab and view the Oaxaca itineraries, I can see 8 am flights to Tuxtla.

Am I missing something?

Is anyone interested in sharing a taxi to Teotihuacan on Saturday, 9 December or Sunday 10 December? We are: two female friends, age 30, New Yorkers, long-term expats, pretty fun. Staying in either Polanco or Condesa.

Hola amigos!

About 10 of us are heading to CSL for a bachelor party in late February for four days. I have lots of broad questions and have searched countless websites, but as someone who has lived in a touristy area of Mexico (Playa del Carmen), I appreciate learning from the locals / those who frequent the area over random blogs, articles, etc.

This is a standard Bachelor Party trip. Looking to have fun (nothing tooo crazy. Up for anything that sounds fun from day trips, to excursions, great

Saludos a todos,

I usually stick to the Guatemala forum, but I thought this article, which is highly-relevant to the rival TripAdvisor forum, might be of interest to Mexico experts:

http://www.jsonline.com/story/news/investigations/2017/11/01/tripadvisor-removed-warnings-rapes-and-injuries-mexico-resorts-tourists-say/817172001/

I post a lot on TripAdvisor in the Guatemala section and I would say that in general our TA Guatemala moderators keep both the good and the bad reviews. However I…

Hello,
I am thinking of going to Rio Lagartos end of december (probably dec 30/31).
Could anyone tell me
1. How about the species at that time, is it a good time to go (I am not mainly interested in the Flamingos, more waterbirds in general and specially waders)
2. I will probably see Sian Ka'an short before and Celestun after that, is Rio Lagartos much different concerning the species you can see.
3. As my time may be very limited, is it possible to make a day tour from Valladolid by bus and how…

Hi everyone!

I'm traveling to Chiapas in a couple weeks and am planning to take the ADO bus from San Cristobal to Palenque during the day as a solo female traveler.

Does anyone have any info on the current situation for this bus route? Have their been robberies or roadblocks recently? Is the day time safer for a solo traveler to travel on this route than nighttime?

Thanks!

We (2 adults and a 10-year old) are traveling to the state of Veracruz for 12 days in December. Need some help with the itinerary. Want to stay in 3 places (4 days each). We arrive in Ver. airport early morning; visit Orizaba or Cordoba; any good day trips from Orizaba/Cordoba? We like short hikes, horseback riding, visiting little pueblitos, chilling out, and enjoying the weather. Other choices: Catemaco; we already visited Xalapa 3 years ago; any other destination suggestions? We want to…

Hi!
I'm researching places to go with my 2 year-old. I read Playa Norte in Isla Mujeres is great for babies, but had also read much of the beach has been eroded. I was hoping someone who's recently visited can tell me more.

Or if there's another beach in the region that has calm, shallow waters I'd love to hear more!

Thanks!
