Naw. I think it was this.

Did the news industry do ANY real reporting in Pescaderogate? Did they send investigators to San Blas to talk with the families, check backgrounds, or see if these fishermen had EVER LIVED IN SAN BLAS?

Or, did they just pass along what some other "news sources" reported?

The thing that got me was they were kind of chubby. 9 months in a boat and only eatting fish????

Televisa did some reports on this when the guys returned home - and the impression I was left with at the time after viewing them was that even some family members of these guys expressed skepticism. The story had "phoney" written all over it, from the first minute it was repeated.

having lived in san blas and its environs for ten years a life time ago. knowing one of the "survivors" since he was a chiclero i gotta say "caca de toro". edward

The important part of the story is that they were picked up on the other side of the Pacific-this is fact</b>.

The jealousy and ignorance as exhibited by the 'usual suspects'/'keyboard jockeys' here is 100% in character.
