Hi all, my name is joel and i am new to the forum and was hoping to get a lil advise from you and hopefully share some myself. I am fairly well travelled through out Sth east asia and india and have a lil knowledge in europe, i plan on heading over to the sth east asia forum and sharing my info if needed.
My girlfriend and i leave to mexico in august(low season), and no matter how much i read online/ in the forum i can't find many(up to date) budgets according to our style of travelling.
I guess we are like many in which we would like to keep it cheap and long (i know it is always dependent on where and when to how prices can change) and in saying that general advise would be great. We have no time frame only a budget and we are flying into mexico city or Toluca and heading south overland on our way to central america.
We don't party and would prefer to stay in minimalist accommodation as long as it has a bed ( no dorms). We prefer to see sites on our own accord unless it is necessary to join a tour. We are vegetarian so we plan on eating as many meals as possible by just shopping in markets etc (ps if anyway knows of any outstanding veg places to eat please say!)
We are very flexible with time so always we will always be looking for the cheapest route rather than quickest.
My question only applies to mexico as after a couple of weeks I'm sure we will work out a guesstimate budget for the rest of the trip.
Another thing we where hoping to shed some light on is if anyone has some up to date information on spirit air regulations on one way travel, We are flying from the states to mexico. a lot of the stuff we read doesn't sound good but most of it is pretty old and we where crossing our fingers that they have lightened up a little!
Thanks in advance for your time!
