Ever heard of Tijuana? Your maturity level suggests that it might be the perfect place for you!

No problem.
Just bookmark this page. And 20 years from now, when you go get a haircut and realize that those gray hairs on the floor are yours (happened to me the other day), come back and apologize. :)
Have fun in Mexico.

Bartleby I was in tijuana years ago but for other reasons.
Theres no reason to get uptight. Offer some advice, poke fun, I really don't care but if you aren't going to add anything to my thread than what are you trying to prove?
Aistinite, judging by the turn of events in my 30 year old brother's beard I can assure you that the apology will be posted sooner!! :)
As others have said, Playa sounds more like the speed of what you're looking for. If your idea of fun is staying in an all-inclusive resort with some decent beachfront, Cancun might be for you. The nightlife seemed to center around 18-22 year olds binge drinking and dancing on tabletops followed by competitive projectile vomiting exhibitions. One night of this was enough to convince me that it was time to head on; that isn't quite my stylef. I haven't been to Los Cabos in about a decade, but it seemed to me that it was moving in the direction of Cancun even back then. Playa was a bit mellower but there is still a decent amount of partying available if that is what you're in the mood for. It's a short hop from Cancun by bus.
I'm sure none of those with the uptight responses on this thread have ever tipped back a few brews whilst on holiday, but it sure seemed like a lot of tourists down there do. Really why anyone would feel the need to comment on the OPs maturity - as though some guy who feels the need to insult someone they'll never likely meet in real life over the way they're choosing to spend their vacation has much room to comment...
Re: trip advisor - I guess it depends on how picky you are about a hotel room. Once you've made a final decision, post an OP asking for suggestions and giving your budget - someone should be able to hook you up regardless of where you decide to go. If you do opt for Cancun, check the downtown area - hotels are more reasonable and there is convenient bus service that can get you to the hotel zone if that is what you are looking for. If you want something even more laid back (more romantic perhaps, though less partying), you could also give some thought to Tulum.

Maybe it's because some of us gray hairs have become accustomed to the Mexican ways. Mexicans seem much less concerned about age than people from other countries. Teenagers and young adults walk hand in hand (or hand and shoulder) with their grandmothers. They look this old gringa in the eye (instead of crossing the street to avoid me) and chat if I'm in the mood. You'll see the difference in customs if you wander from your age group. If not, have a great time in Mexico and heed all advice given above. I learned your post, i.e. what a BIG difference it makes being 18 or 22. I had forgotten. Those are the four "full speed ahead maturity" years, for sure.
Buen suerte.

Cabo has a heavy SoCal feel. It is a lot more trendy, upscale and expensive than the Mayan Riviera which has more of the party till you puke vibe you seem to be looking for. You might enjoy Mazatlan too although you are travelling after the spring break season when your age group is there in force.

I actually lived in mazatlan a few years ago and have been back since. I really like that place!! I want to try somewhere new though.
I think im going to rule out cabo and search for some more playa del carmen deals.
Thanks alot for the thoughtful post moe!!!
btw neither of us is into drinking until we vomit so im not sure where anyone got that from.
