Hello all
Myself & friend are travelling to Guadalajara in May and wondering what shots we need to get? I was in India & Asia 2000 and got all the relevant shots . What is required for Guadalajara?
Whats the highlight of this city? What would you recommend to do? we hope to travel by car to the beach.
We have no accommadation booked yet..any ideas of what to get, we are on a shoe string budget

Re: vaccinations -- Guadalajara is a large, modern city. Whatever you got for India and Asia is probably sufficient -- ie. Hep A and B and a tetanus booster... You don't need typhoid or anything like that. I don't know much about that area in particular, but I would guess if you get a LP guide for Mexico and scour the Guadalajara section you will find most of the information you are looking for. Puerto Vallarta is not far, but there are also a lot of less developed beach locations you could hit from GD. Good luck!

Shots: None required, but Hep A is a very good idea. Guadlajara is a VERY BIG city and you need a guidebook to determine what you want to see and do. Stay in the historic center if you can. "The Beach"? Guadalajara is in the middle of Mexico, beaches are a long way away, but #1 is right: the PV area is your best bet.

you will be here in guadalajara i recomend you TEQUILA shots, you wont need more here, we have severeal beaches near guadalajara driving about 2.5 hours is the first one near colima, its not a fancy beach but you will have all you need, puerto vallarta is really nice, but expensive, if you are short of money it wont last too much

Yes no shots are required. I had shots before I left from Holland 3,5 years ago for Hep A and B. I would recommend to take the bus to the beach. Busses are very cheap. I would not recommend to go to Puerto Vallarte as you are on a shoe string budget. PV is very popular with american tourist and there for prices are quite high. Better go to Manzanillo which is closer and not as exspensive. For a place to stay we have cheap apartments which cost only 18 USD for the apartment and has place for two people.
