Hello,

I have just recently been referred to this wonderful site. I have a few questions. My husband and I are going to drive from Ciudad Juarez to visit family in Michoacan.

Regarding vehicle permits, I am aware that I need to get one for our vehicle if traveling outside the boarder town. My question is I hear you have to leave a bond of $400 for vehicles 1999 or newer on a credit card when you get this vehicle permit. Has anyone experienced this?

Also, my vehicle is financed, is this an issue when it comes to Mexican customs issuing the vehicle permit? I have my registration, license I will be getting Mexican Insurance as well.
