I used uber primarily in Puebla and Mexico City and found estimates to be pretty accurate. I read a suggestion somewhere to take a screenshot with the estimated price, just in case. Seems like a good idea even though I had no problem. On the other hand, a driver in Cholula offered to take me back to Puebla for a much lower price if I pay him in cash (may be that’s why I got confused about the price).

I considered the train when I was in Cholula with a friend back in September. I have been able to get cabs in the $100 peso range, and that was simply more convenient for two, especially considering the train would be $120 pesos.
The bus, if I recall, is around $12 pesos.
