I remember there was a thread some time ago about how long would it take to get a mail from Mexico. Now I have experienced myself the inefficiency of Mexico's postal service system.

Sent 6 post cards from San Cristobal de las Casas on March 13. One to Atlanta, U.S. and 5 others to a major city in China. NONE of them ever received. Sent 1 from Mexico City to China on March 17 and my parents got it this past weekend.

Can I say Oh My God? X_X Just hope the first 6 wouldn't get lost! Big sigh///

I've sent several postcards from Mexico to the US over the last year.

The ones I sent from Mexico City seemed to arrive within a reasonable length of time.

The ones I sent from assorted other cities in Mexico took forever.

Forever. As in close to two months.

I don't know what's going on.

My experience- postcards and letters that clearly have nothing of value in them have been no problem usually needing about seven days to get to the U.S. Packages are another story. About a 50% sucess rate mailing to and from Mexico.

its been my experience that letters usually take between 15-18 days from post mark in states to delivery to my door here in Veracruz.
