Didnt give it much thought before I left because I never really got bitten in other places like Indonesia or Panama

But the Mexican Mosquitos love my white Irish skin and Im getting ravaged in the DF, Monterrey and here in Cancun.

Autan (aerosol) and OFF! (cream) dont seem to be doing the trick so could somebody recommend some hardcore industrial strength stuff for me?

Also for the bites themselves is there anything thats good for them? I usually use Sudocrem but they don`t seem to sell this here (or does it have a different name)

Thanks in advance

DiscoH -- try vinegar. It definitely works for taking away the itch, & also repels mosquitos & gnats. Get some kind of bottle that shoots a fine mist & fill it with regular vinegar. Don't worry -- the smell dissipates quickly.
Go to a pharmacy & ask for Aloid. It's an over the counter product that really gets rid of itching. It comes in a cream that vanishes as you rub it into your skin -- not greasy.

Wear long sleeves & pants...Buy a mosquito net...carracar

Good advice Carracar. Actually loose fitting long pants and long sleeve shirts are cooler than shorts, which expose your skin directly to the sun. Cool and less mosquitos sounds like a no brainer...but still tourists seem to prefer shorts and tank tops. Go figure.

But to really repel them, you need something with at least 30% DEET for exposed parts. Read the bottles of what you see available. Stronger good. Weaker bad. Dengue Fever is not something to take a chance on.

Meat tenderizer works on almost any type of venomous bite, such as mosquitoes and scorpions -- if you get it on quickly. In Mexico, it is called ablandador, and the active ingredient is papain, from papayas. Make it into a paste, saliva if nothing available when you need it quick.

metholayted spirits is also very good for stopping the itching. You need a tropical version with more deet to keep them off.

Tiger Balm also takes itch out of bug bites right away. The dark yellow is the best. It comes in a very small glass jar, but a dap rubbed in does the job.
