I am starting a master's program in fall and need to brush up my Spanish for the program. I'm am good conversationally but need to be drilled in writing and grammar. I also want to have a relaxing time near a beach. I was wondering if anyone could recommend places like that in Mexico. Any specifics on Spanish schools close to the beach? What regions should I be looking at, Yucatan, Oaxaca, etc.? Extra bonus points for places that might have other activities (salsa, cooking or guitar classes) or are quaint. Thanks for your help.
Not a lot of culture of the Mexican style and the beach is not the Caribbean ... but I like this area
La Catalina Natural Language School
Centro Multicultural
La Catalina Foundation
Lots of culture Mexican style although the centro historico has few buildings much older than 120 years or so. FINE beaches and lots of nightlife. Many good Spanish schools. Where? Mazatlán, of course.

I personally went to a fun school in Playa del Carmen, Mexico a couple years back (where I live). Check them out. I thought they were great!

I can recommend Centro de Idiomas in Mazatlan or CEPE (University of Guadalajara) in Puerto Vallarta. In Playa del Carmen, try Playalingua or Solexico. Climate note: The beach areas tend to be more touristy and will be very hot and humid in the summer--not ideal for Spanish language study. If you are not a hot weather person, try Guanajuato or Oaxaca for language school and then spend a week on the beach afterwards.
Buena suerte,
