I've been on/off this forum for over 10 years.
I am saddened by this news.
Although I have never met Anonimo personally, his knowledge of Mexico, particularly Patzcuaro and Oaxaca, were invaluable to many of us who loves to travel Mexico.

Never met him, nor did I ever read more than a handful of his blogs. But I'll say this, if any of the TT participants have ever entertained the idea of full time living in Mexico, do it now. Life's too short, even at 73. Don't ever look back and wonder 'what if'.

Thank you for posting this. It was a pleasure have the chance to interact with him here and enjoy his contributions over the years.

That blog post is also beautiful and informative.

He was a true gentleman, a generous sharer on this forum and his blogs.

I heard about it here in Pátzcuaro too on Saturday. Sad yes. But I believe that he had been ill for a number of years but still continued to contribute to this forum as well as to the Michoacan.net. He was the first person to give me extensive advice via email about living in Pátzcuaro.

Thank you for posting this sad news. Mike will be missed by many.
I frequently make a recipe that he gave me and of course I always think of him when I do.

Bump.

This is a very sad news, indeed :( My family met Don Cuevas in Patzcuaro and them we met him and Susie again in D.F. What a wonderful and kind and generous person... Our condolences go to his wife :(

I didn't meet anonimo personally, but I admired his ability to go below the surface in order to find the best places to eat. He knew of places only mexicans know (and even surprised me with a couple of nice recommendations in Mexico City), and he was not afraid of trying stuff other foreigners would skip. He and his contributions will be missed. Farewell!!.
