A pathetically hypocritcal comment, especially when we consider that your response was not the same to the clearly "commercial" response from the owner of the "B&B" YOU recommended just 5 posts down from yours. In fact, the HOME B&B is shamelessly self-promoted on this website constantly. Do you have a vested interest in its success? Your harrassing comments certainly make it seem so.

If you bothered to be inquisitive rather than judgmental, you would have sent a private message as you were invited to do (and as others have done) to learn that I live, work (legally), and pay taxes in Mexico, and that I have travelled it far and wide, speak Spanish, and have helped many other friends discover its wonders.

It is not against the regulations to make refererence to classified ads placed on other parts of the Lonely Planet site.

Find something more contructive to do with your time rather than calling good people's character into question and spreading negative energy.

Haciendahomey, why not put a link to your place in your profile? That's within the rules and can be helpful to those of us who may be interested. I looked, but couldn't find anything in the LP Classifieds referring to "Hacienda", etc.

By the way, Bill (Longford), I don't see anything in hacienda's profile that can be called "commercial". Maybe he/she edited it since you last saw it?

I'm sorry, but my uncle lives three, and I need to tell you to be careful. If he police raid a place that is being run illegally the "guests" can be sent back to their own countries at their own expense until the issue is resolved.

Be aware that if someone is running a B&B in Mexico they must have a visa to live there legally; ask the B&B manager to see their papers.

Also, if the "B&B"owner is renting space to run their business, their OWN NAME must be on the lease.

Also, be VERY careful that yu do not eat the food in a place where the cook is not being careful about how they prepare the food. If the cook handles cigarettes or is pulling insects out of the food you are in great risk.

I have heard lots of horror stories!

#22 is a post that spreads F.U.D. (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt), implicating some unknown guesthouse operator(s). I find it truly difficult to believe that the guests can be deported if staying at an "illegally" operated guesthouse.
The Querétaro B&B business has some cutthroat competition, from what I've learned. The Donhoe post seems to support that idea.
