I took the "Premiere Plus" bus from Zona Romantica (which I think is also considered Centro)in both directions. I took city bus from and back to the airport. The trip to and from Melaque was a comfortable ride. It is my impression that there are two different bus lines that go from PV to Melaque, and that the other is longer with many more stops. I know that when I returned to PV from Melaque, the Premiere Plus bus that I took did not go directly to the airport. I don't know if buses leaving at other times do. It was good to get my ticket ahead of time in both cases. Good luck!

I haven't taken the bus to Melaque for a couple of years but have taken about 5-6 times before that. The bus doesn't go to the airport at all but leaves from the main bus terminal. It always seem to stop in the old part of Centro both coming and going. It can sometimes make a stop at a town (Tomatlan) that is about midway stopping long enough that people can get off for a bit. It doesn't always stop there (in my limited experience) but if it does, it makes the trip a little longer.
PS. The road leaving PV is a bit twisty and I was affected a bit so now take something for motion sickness.
