hi, should i take american dolares or should i change some money to mexican dolares in advanced? are the american dolares accepted everywhere?
and are there some special advices to go to mexico (riviera maya), like vaccines or other?
thanks

Dollars are not accepted in most places, or at least you won't get a very precise exchange rate. You should, however, take American dollars to exchange for Mexican currency (pesos).
Unless you plan to spend serious time in the jungle, no vaccines needed.

USA dollars are easy to change in Mexico. There are places to do this in the Cancun airport as well as some ATM machines. In the cities are casas de cambio. The all inclusives in the Rivera Maya are very expensive and as Easter approaches all booked up. Playa del Carmen has a large range of hotels in all price ranges. Yucatan is malarial 12 months of year so prepare for that. Also dengue fever exists. You will need your hep shots, tetnus shots and anything else you doctor my want to give you like polio. Seek the doctors advice on this if you dont travel alot. To see the Yucatan see my website wolfcalls.com.
Are You coming from Portugal? Do they use Euros in Portugal? I guess I might buy about 50 Euros' worth of Mexican pesos before leaving home if it were not too much trouble. Or American dollars, if I could not get pesos. Just enough to get from the airport into whatever city you are visiting. After that, you will be fine with either Euros or Dollars. They are both very easy to change to pesos in the city. (Dollars are not accepted everywhere, no, and if a merchant or business does accept dollars, they will almost certainly be giving you a really lousy exchange rate because you making extra work for them.)

Geraldinha mexican dolares????????????? is like portuguese pesetas???? dolares are in the us in mexico the currency are pesos, bring one hundred euros in pesos, and use your credit or debit card in hotels, atm, restaurants, car rental, etc.... in can cun you could pay with dolar no proble, but a very low currency.

No need to. As suggested in the above you CAN exchange euros for pesos once you get to Mexico. The American Express office at the Cancun airport or the various banks like Banco Santader in Mexico City airport will exchange euros (and other hard currencies besides dollars) into pesos. If you exchange euros for dollars in Europe and then with those dollars to pesosyou lose more money that way then if you just exchange once (euros for pesos). Only exception is if you're travelling overland from Mexico to Guatemala or Belize then the opposite is true. Exchange leftover pesos for dollars at a bank (like in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas) and then exchange US$ for Bz$ or Guatemala Quetzal at the border or another bank beyond the border on the other side. The money changers at the border to Guatemala and Belize give you a better rate for US$ then they would for Mexican pesos and the local banks at the border (and beyond) do carry a large reserve of US$ that they are able to offer a better rate (like about 3-5% of the interbank rate) for US$. There other branches further down the road from the border will NOT take any kind of other currencies from neighboring countries.
