Looking for info on a small village south of PV called La Perula.Thinking of going there for a couple of laid back weeks next march as we work our way to PV.Not a whole lot on the net so personal stories would be appreciated

No personal experience, but know of a person who lives there for a good part of the year, but is of an advanced age so therefore not looking for night life.
After six pm you'll find everything except a few abbarotes will be closed. Don't know what would attract you to there? Better bring a good supply of books is my advice.
There are other little towns on the costalegre, such as La Manzanilla where you at least have a choice of a few restaurants to choose from and you could be as laid back as you want to be. Definitely not overrun by tourists, though there are a few.
Buena suerte
I remember this thread from not too long ago: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/americas-mexico/mexico/any-current-info-about-punta-perala?page=1#post_22648287
Actually, after partying in town for a week, this would be nice, rolling up the sidewalks at 6PM every nite LOL!

The town name is Punta Perula. Great beach and a few beach front restaurants where the river meets the ocean. Hire a panga and explore the nearby islands. It is about 2 hours by car south of PV at the point where (heading south) Hwy 200 first re-approaches the Pacific.
It is at the south end of large Cabo Corrientes (sp?) municipality (I know not called municipality) that has a number of interesting beaches and small towns Mayto, etc and an couple upscale, but little known "Ecotourism" hotel/resorts.
For info: Google Maps calls the town "Perula"; the headland a couple of km northwest of town "Punta Perula"; and the municipality "La Huerta." "Cabo Corrientes" is the municipality approx 30 km further north.
