Thanks, Anonimo. I was last at Arnel's about ten years ago, and will be there later this year.
By the way; there used to be a poster here on TT, who owned a restaurant in Patzcuaro. Do you have any idea what happened to him and/or the restaurant? He hasn't been heard from in ages.

Thanks, mclarjh. I did notice the restaurant mentioned on their hotel website, and think it will be a welcome addition. I'm looking forward to seeing Arnel and the hotel later this year, after his being so helpful in steering me to the proper place to report my passport being stolen, nearly ten years ago. After reporting it to the police, I then went to the US Consulate, where all the paperwork for a replacement passport was filled out and emailed to the US Embassy in Mexico City, where I picked up my new passport a few days later during a scheduled stay. A pretty slick operation all around, but one that I don't want or need to repeat.

I visited Casa Arnel this morning. The price now for a room with matrimonial bed for two is 600 MXN. But the hairless xolo, Rex, has gone to join grandpa (Arnel said he died two years ago, thought I´d seen it since then, must have been confused with Coco).

Good to see the thorn tree still delivers. Haven't posted on here in ages. Sent a room reservation request through their website over the weekend but haven't heard back. Hope there is something available for my trip.

Lots of gringos had been leaving Oaxaca in the last week or so to return home, so you should have no problem getting a room there, unless you´re visiting during semana santa.
