Try to stay "on topic", Ed. (But thanks, I didn't create that pun.)

San Blas, Nayarit, is one of the most boring places I have ever visited in Mexico. The outstanding exception was the Delfin Restaurant at the Hotel Garza Canela (formerly Hotel Las Brisas.)
Still, I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat there.

OP, my top most fave place in Mexico is Mexico City. After that, my home, near Pátzcuaro, Michoacán.

My most favorable experiance was a stay in Merida Yucatan. I had the pleasure of staying at a newly renovated 400 year old Hacienda. The name of the place is Hacienda San Pedro Nophat. The owners made me feel at home and helped me to see many hidden treasures of the area. You can find info on the place at www.haciendaholidays.com , last I read they were # 2 for the best place to stay in Merida.
