Yesterday I took a day trip over to DF to scout out the new terminal to help some exchange students that are coming to Puebla - I needed for them to be able to navigate from the new Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 to get to the airport bus terminal. While I was there, I talked a lot to the information folks about the status of T2. I also got a nice map of the inside, which I hadn't seen posted before.

I'll post the detailed guide later in this thread, but for arrivals who want to go to T1, the basic flow is exit customs, turn right, go up the escalator, keep straight until you run out of walkway, turn right and follow the little train/T1 signs (the train is not very well marked). You will need either a ticket, boarding pass, or e-ticket receipt to board the train. The train arrives at Terminal 1 between Puerta 6 and Puerta 5 on a station on the 3rd/4th floor of the parking deck. Once you leave the train and exit the train facility, turn left to walk across the bridge over the traffic below, then left again - then keep straight on the second floor until you see the Krispy Kreme on your left - at that point turn left and walk back across the traffic to arrive at the bus terminal.

If you don't have a ticket and want to get to/from T2, there is a 15-passenger shuttle bus that runs approx every 30 min between the two - it leaves from right in front of Puerta 6 on the ground floor. The AeroTren runs from 5AM-10PM, so if you are on the late Delta flight from Orlando like my wife was, you will have wait to take the along with the rest of your planes passengers (this can take awhile).

They were working on the T2 bus terminal while I was there, and one of the workers said that while they were almost done with the construction, the only client he had heard of that will initially have service is Caminante (to Toluca i'm guessing). He made it sound like the other bus lines haven't shown interest.

Excellent report, thanks! I'm surprised someone didn't stop you when you were taking the photographs. One note: you refer to the "Old Terminal," and that's not accurate, IMO. Terminal 1 was substantially renovated within the past couple/several years - and is very new. There are 2 terminals now, and I think the titling of one as "new" and the other as "old" is a bit misleading. Thanks again, for adding to the library of information here. I suggest you send a PM to Andreas, the moderator, asking that this be archived - so that it doesn't disappear in a month or two.

Hiya, i'm flying into AICM (i assume this is just another name for DF airport?) on february 8th from Madrid on Iberia. do you know what terminal I am likely to land at? It doesn't say on my ticket?
Also, i'm trying to head straight on to Toluca, is this easy from the airport? Do I just follow signs for the bus or something? OP mentioned a new bus terminal at terminal 2??

Thanks,

Phil

"AICM" are the initials of the company which manages/operates the airports . . . not representative of the name of the airport itself . . . which is Benito Juarez International Airport. Information about which terminal you'll be using is best obtained from the airline you'll be flying with, sometimes one does not know that information until the day of the flight. If you read this discussion and the linked information you'll learn the principal users of Terminal 2. Regarding travel to Toluca: There are frequent busses connecting the airport to Toluca's bus terminal with departures until maybe 10 p.m. nightly. The webpage for the airport is linked in the FAQ "sticky" thread which starts the discussion lists on this TTMB, you can click on it and find the most reliable bus schedules.

Iberia will still arrive at Terminal 1, so it should be a bit easier for you. To go to Toluca(the city, not the airport) just head to the Transporte Terrestre counters in terminal 1, and there is a Caminante bus that you can take from there to Toluca.

Today, I came across the following mention in the media (in Spanish) regarding a January 15th relocation of AeroMexico from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2:

I don`t think so, AICM means: Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (International Airport of Mexico City)
