A few years ago I purchased PP tickets on line and paid with a Canadian credit card.Last year I tried and no way could I do it no matter what.So.....I was wondering if anyone has any present info on this before I go and get my old mind confused......I would be departing from PV.

Yes, that sucks. Most of the 1st class bus companies don't take foreign credit cards, only those issued in Mexico. I was told because it was due to online fraud by one of the bus companies. They'll take your foreign card at the bus terminal bus not online. ETN, which does not provide good service anymore, will take payments with PayPal but I couldn't pay with my US cards on La Linea or Primera Plus.
Others have reported that the ClickBus website will accept foreign credit cards for ADO bus trips, but I don´t know if they also sell Primera Plus bus trips, or if another website does. You´ll have to check yourself.

I bought a PP ticket with a US credit card on Clickbus sometime back, but they don't seem to offer PP any longer.
This is actually quite interesting because I was thinking of using buses for my possible spring break visit to Mexico. But I never actually went and looked if I could pay with a foreign card. This post made me look a little further and I came across this post in TripAdvisor https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g150800-i164-k9405293-Using_a_US_credit_card_to_purchase_ticket_on_primera_Plus-Mexico_City_Central_Mexico_and_Gul.html
It says that sometimes you can do it through clickbus if the route us covered. Other, apparently, managed to pay with Canadian, American and even Chinese cards if they used a Mexican IP address. (They mention some links in there that I didn't open)
When I used primera plus I always bought the tickets when I was inside of Mexico so it never occurred to me that there would be an issue with foreign cards...
I hope this helps

I had the same problem when I attempted recently to buy a bus ticket on ETN. There was an option to use PayPal to pay and it worked great. If ETN travels to where you are going I recommend it. The buses were clean and great. Their website has an English option as well.
Unless youre arriving (and departing immediately) in high season, buying a ticket in advance shouldnt be a requirement. Seats on first class buses are usually available right up until departure. And there are always seats available on second class buses.
