after 7 months of roughing-it travelling my friend and i are looking for a nice beach in theacapulco area (so we dont have too long a journey up to mexico city for our flight), somewhere to top up the tan and chill out. nothing too tacky and touristy, but somewhere also with a bit of life and fun! any suggestions.....(the question mark doesnt work on this keyboard sorry!!)...
also, any ideas on how to travel there from mexcio....good companies, journey times...

You can go to Barra de Coyuca. Its been a long time that I was there, but I remember that that was México. There is a beach called Michigan also. I don´t know how far from acapulco, probably 2 hours. I think that you will like.
Actually, there is a company called interjet, www.interjet.com.mx They fly from Toluca which is 60 km away from México. I make the same time from México International Airport to my house that from Toluca´s airport to my house. I think it really worths. See the prices. It is almost the same as a bus cost.
How long are you going to stay in México?

Puerto Marques, Pie de la Cuesta, Barra Vieja, Playa Bonfil . . . they're all technically part of Acapulco, but not in the center of things; nice beaches, laid-back environment and with some things to do. When are you planning to be in the area?

Weird folk on this space.....
Longford gave me a great recommendation. Try Playa Ventura, but it might not be a night life kinda place, but one where you can make your own fun. Playa Bonfil and Barra vieja looked pretty, closer to Aca, but a lot of an Aca day crowd. In April, Playa Ventura is in the busy season, so it might have all the fun you're looking for, not sure, I was there in February, everyone there said April was the big month, outside of December. Either way, its a must see. About 3 hours tops south from Aca via taxi collectivo. Cheers!
